Recognising Academic Contribution
The Dialectic Forum recognises registered members who make meaningful contributions to academic and social life through research, academic participation, teaching, and outreach.
The Forum’s awards acknowledge members who show sustained involvement in the Forum and contribute beyond their routine academic responsibilities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for an award, a member should:
- Be a registered member of The Dialectic Forum for at least one year.
- Have published at least one research paper in an official journal of The Dialectic Forum.
- Have actively participated in the Forum’s Annual Academic Event, such as a conference, symposium, expert talk, or similar academic programme.
- Have made a notable contribution to pedagogy or participated in meaningful social outreach activities.
Awards will be considered on the basis of the member’s overall contribution and fulfilment of the stated criteria. The Forum may announce specific award categories, nomination procedures, and selection guidelines from time to time.
Award Selection Process
The Dialectic Forum follows a transparent process for selecting members for its academic awards.
1. Eligibility
Members must meet all the basic eligibility requirements specified for the award, including the minimum membership period, research publication, participation in the Forum’s Annual Academic Event, and a recognised contribution to pedagogy or social outreach.
2. Nomination
Eligible members may be nominated for an award in accordance with the nomination procedure announced by the Forum. The Forum may also invite members to submit their own nominations, where applicable.
3. Verification
The Forum will verify the information and supporting documents provided with each nomination. This may include verification of membership, research publications, participation in academic events, and details of pedagogical or outreach activities.
4. Review and Selection
Eligible nominations will be reviewed by an Awards Committee constituted by The Dialectic Forum. The Committee will consider the quality, relevance, and significance of the member’s academic and outreach contributions.
Meeting the eligibility criteria makes a member eligible for consideration but does not automatically guarantee an award.
5. Final Decision
The Awards Committee will recommend the selected recipients, subject to approval by the Forum’s authorised governing body. The decision of the Committee and the authorised governing body will be final.
6. Announcement and Recognition
The Forum will formally inform and recognise selected members through an Award Certificate or other form of recognition determined by the Forum. The names of award recipients may also be published on the Forum’s website and through its official academic communications.
